The combatants find themselves in a bunker on Hoth during the Imperial invasion, secluded from the main invading force. Spartan decorations make it a straightforward duel...until the Imperials destroy the power generators as a part of the invasion (30 posts) and all of a sudden the bunker comes out of lockdown, exposing the duelists to the freezing cold of the planet's surface.
The Sith Citadel was constructed long before the Great Hyperspace War by the Sith Empire after abandoning its former capital world of Korriban. It was initially intended to be the palace and focal point of the empire, establishing Ziost as the new seat of Sith Power.
Ziost, sometimes referred to as the "Gateway to the Empire" in the days of the Old Republic, was a world made up of ancient dark forests and barren tundra. However, the trees withered away and the planet became very similar, in landscape, to Korriban. Much of the planet was covered in ice. Not only was it a focal point of the dark side, but it was also the adopted homeworld and Imperial capital of the Sith species, who left their original homeworld, Korriban, as a graveyard world after the death of their leader Adas.

The Outlander Club was a gambling establishment and nightclub situated in the lower levels of the planet Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment District. It was a popular and busy location for both the higher echelons of Coruscant society and those engaged in more sinister activities. The club had a central bar which offered drinks and various cutouts where patrons could place bets on sports activities occurring across the galaxy such as podracing and grav-ball. Criminals and other individuals who did not want to garner attention would use the club and surrounding areas to sell illicit goods such as death sticks. Fugitives often used the constant crowds moving in and out of the club to shake pursuit.

So long as this is met before posting a bounty on someone's head, all will be well with the bounty system's use.
Likewise, any hunter taking on a bounty must be willing to accept the risks that their character could be harmed or killed in pursuit of a target and targets are liable to defend themselves from being captured and/or killed.

This is one of the many issues we have run into with this, which makes it quite the difficult item to resolve. However, we really don't want to leave too much up to opinion when it comes to calculating rankings as some people will have varying ideas as to what constitutes a better ranking. Someone might consider a 5-0 record to be better than a 7-2 record, whereas another person may see that differently. Because of this reasoning, I don't exactly think a system based on quality of opponent will work as well as we might want it to; there are just too many variables and too many things that could be mistakenly done.
We want to recognize people in the Battle Arena, which is the point of the Ranking system, but we don't want things to skew in a way that showcases people at the top that have not necessarily reached that merit yet. This is a complicated topic, which is why we want as much input as we can get.
I will piggy-back on what Ishmael has stated, though. If you could further describe this "Elo" system, it would be greatly appreciated.
I know I have already suggested this the the Chronicler's via Discord but any chance for a Bounty Listing tab for those who would like to dabble in the Bounty Hunter arena of life? Just a way to post Bounties and claim them in a collected area?
Kirwin, thank you for again bringing up the concern. I will talk with my fellow administrators and once we settle on a proper outlet to put this board up and how to implement it correctly, we will. I only ask that you be patient in the mean time.
So, after some discussion between the Admins and Battle Arena Staff, we would like to open an idea up to the rest of the site in regards to calculating how Duelists rank inside the Battle Arena.
The current structure is as follows:
Win = 2 points Draw = 1 point Loss = 0 points
The problem with the above structure is that a Duelist with a record (W/L/D) of 5-0-0 (10pts) would be tied points-wise with a Duelist with a Duelist that carried a record of 3-3-4 (10pts). Looking at this, it is easy to tell that the duelist with the 5-0-0 record should be ranked higher than the duelist with a record of 3-3-4, but with points as they are, they are tied in the rankings. Because of this, we have been discussing potential fix actions for this and have moved toward the following, but would like input from the site as we don't want to drive duelists away from the Battle Arena.
Win = 1 Draw = 0 Loss = -1
The thing about the new system is that in order to avoid ties, it would see people dip negatively point-wise if they carried a losing record. Now the duelist with the record (W/L/D) of 5-0-0 (5pts) would outrank the duelist with the record of 3-3-4 (0pts). Our issue here is that we fear people dropping points-wise too negatively could discourage use of the Battle Arena which we absolutely do not want as a duelist with a record of 0-2-0 would have -2pts in the rankings, dipping below 0pts.
The attached poll is for you, as the writer base, to voice your opinions on this proposal and depending on if this proposal is negatively or positively received, will determing the direction we take this in the future. If you have any ideas or opinions, please voice them in replies below.
