BIOGRAPHY:
Ander is roughly six feet tall, with dark hair and hazel eyes. His skin is light in tone, and his figure well taken care of, giving him a natural strength.
He can usually be found wearing pocketed pants and jackets, with light shirts and boots, though he packs differently depending on where he happens to be.
Two key events have caused an extreme shift in Ander's style of dress. The first being the discovery of his Mandalorian heritage on his father's side, and the adoption of his father's Mandalorian beskar armor, which he wears now and again in times of need. The armor's main coloring is red, its trimming black. The red denotes Ander's honoring of his father, Katarr Tagira; the black his adherence to bringing justice.
The second reason this change of dress was made was due to Ander's founding of GALSAF, the Galactic Security and Assistance Force, a rapid response task force dedicated to the destruction of those perceived as corrupt or evil.
While uniforms are of little importance to GALSAF personnel, Ander's position as a leader at times demands it.
Biography: Ander started life on Corellia, born in 14 years before the first Death Star was destroyed over Yavin, born to parents Katarr and Sandra Tagira. Katarr worked as a Mandalorian mercenary, and met Sandra during a job he took on for the Alliance.
Both parents were part of the Rebel Alliance against the Empire, in their own way. Ander's mother served as an A-wing pilot, and his father helped to train Alliance infantry soldiers, teaching them the tactics of the old Grand Army's commandos, whom he once also helped to train.
Not long after meeting, Sandra found out she was pregnant with a child. Their life together grew strenuous, especially after taking on the responsibilities of raising an infant, and it was Katarr's wish to train Ander in combat at the age of seven that led the marriage to split.
Sandra remained with the Alliance, and Katarr left to take on work throughout the galaxy, never again seeing his son.
Unfortunately for the now-broken family, things turned for the worse on Vulpter when Ander's mother deployed to the planet for a raid on a collection of Imperial storehouses that were being used to house chemical weapons. Katarr was working for the Imperials at that point, and was killed by a grenade thrown unwittingly by Sandra during the raid.
Her mind broke when she discovered the body of her ex-husband in the post-battle, and was nearly forced out of her commission by Alliance Command. Her fellow pilots, however, vouched for her stability and she kept her commission until the Battle of Sullust, when her anxieties and mental instabilities caused her to rocket her vessel into hyperspace, blacking out during the journey.
She reappeared over Alzoc 3, her A-wing crashing into a transport shuttle upon reversion to real space, sending her into a coma and nearly resulting in her death.
She remained in her coma for nearly 20 years, taken on by a medical group on Alzoc 3 that used her mind for testing of certain reactionary chemicals for coma patients. These drugs had no negative effects on her brain, but her son, who was orphaned at the age of eleven, fared much worse.
Sandra came out of her coma at the outbreak of the Yuuzhan Vong war, and remained in the care of that very same medical organization. Her mental capacity was dampened, and her memory of her ex-husband, and her son were lost in her illness. Her son would not find her again for another nineteen years.
Ander, in the meantime, was taken on at the age of twenty-three by the Alliance to serve as a mechanic, and had the chance to meet Luke Skywalker just before his mission to Mount Tantiss on the backwater world of Wayland, during the Thrawn Crisis.
When Skywalker established the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4, he invited Ander to come and learn the ways of the Force, and to become a Jedi. Ander accepted, and became one of the few Jedi a the new galaxy.
During his training, Ander met Tebana Sor, and later on, others, such as Dav Man'Sell, a Jedi from the Old Republic Order, and Ksandra Mallan, another Jedi from that era. After Luke Skywalker left to establish the Jedi around the galaxy, he bestowed the Praxeum to Ander and his colleges, who ran the planet with much efficiency until Ander's own mental and emotional decline some years later.
His lack of parentage and his desire to find his mother caused him to break down on many occasions, and become emotionally distant from his colleges. He soon began to lash out at others, and often would lead the Yavin 4 Jedi on dangerous pursuits of enemies more often than not spurred by Ander's own actions and words in the political world.
Eventually, he was forced out of his position on Yavin by his colleges, and in shame left the system in pursuit of change for himself, and his life. He decided to finally search out his mother's past, and if she remained among the living, her location.
Ander had shortly dated a woman named Marla Edes during his time on Yavin 4. Shortly before Ander left, Edes returned from her exploits on Kessel with a piece of salvage material that contained a serial number Ander was able to match with old Rebel records to his mother's A-wing. The records were held aboard the memory core of an old Nebulon-B Medical Frigate, then under the care of a physician named Jasper Leeds.
When his mother had crashed over Alzoc 3, the retrieval and damage assessment crews had logged the serials of both vessels, which Ander traced to the planet and discovered where his mother was being held.
After nearly forty years, Ander visited her for the first time, only to discover that she no longer knew who he was, and needed assistance for even simple things, such as dressing and eating.
Ander stayed with her for some time, getting to know her and letting her know who he was; though he withheld the fact that he was her son from her, not wanting to place anymore strain on her already damaged mind.
Calo Foster, a young adult Ander had taken as an apprentice for some years on Yavin 4, helped Ander secure a place for his mother to reside on the planet of Mandalore, in the care of some of Foster's old friends. Ander gave up finding a cure or reversion process for his mother's mental declination, and has instead focused on making her last days comfortable and kind.
In the several years since leaving the Yavin 4 Praxeum, Ander began work on establishing GALSAF, the Galactic Security Assistance Force; an ad hoc military organization who's sole focus is the security of those who cannot provide it for themselves. GALSAF reached out to anybody facing the oppression of another, or even the simplistic petty crimes committed in dark alleys on dangerous worlds.
With the help of several unnamed benefactors, Ander was able to secure the purchase of several Imperial-II class Star Destroyers, as well as an army's worth of weaponry, aircraft, and ground vehicles for GALSAF's recruits.
Calo Foster, who became Ander's adopted son in the Mandalorian fashion, and his heir in all of his holdings, led the recruiting drive that focused on providing former combat veterans and security personnel with jobs amongst GALSAF's soldiers.
Delmani Altic, a Jango clone and former soldier of the Grand Army of the Republic (eventually defecting from the Imperial Navy), became one of GALSAF's first military leaders, after Tagira himself. Others followed Ander from Yavin 4's own defense force, the Y4DF, in the years following his expulsion from the planet.
A small force, GALSAF makes its way across the galaxy helping those in need, at whatever cost to the organization itself. GALSAF commandos are some of the best trained soldiers in the galaxy, trained by the best and unwaveringly committed to the GALSAF Charter and Mission Statement, the document drawn by Ander himself that provides the guidelines for all of their work.
However, Ander's tenure with GALSAF would eventually come to an end, and he would leave command of the organization to his most trusted military advisers of the time, Delmani Altic and Ali Hadrix. Now he seeks to reestablish his deep connection with the Force, and finally reconcile the two parts of himself, Mando'ad and Jedi, that he has struggled so long to hold in the balance.
