The Ar'vach'al Space Port was the largest spaceport in Bastonica. Located on the edge of the outer most tier, also known as the 'Fringe Sector', the sprawling port was built into the outer wall of the fortress city.
As one of the few access points into the city, the Space Port was one of the most secure locations in the city. The only access in was through 'the Portcullis', a large high tech tunnel that ran through the 'Leviathan's Rift' and into a canyon known as the Maw- which coincidentally was lined with turbo lasers and anti aircraft weaponry. The airspace was also constantly monitored and patrolled for anomalies.
Past the Maw, visitors would be greeted by the colossal outer wall of Bastonica, though this wall was dotted with a multitude openings that lead to hanger bays, both large and public, as well as small and private. The port itself led into the city by way of the Revenant Market, which was a massive public trading space. Past the market, one would need an Entry Port Visa to access the city.
The Raven descended gracefully, altering its approach to enter the Portcullis. The vessel slipped in with an ease that indicated that it was no stranger to this port. As it made its way through the tunnel, Nexus emerged from his cabin. Now clad from head to toe in his infamous war regala, he looked at Morrigan.
"We have arrived on an important day. Today the citizens of Byss are celebrating Leviathan's Fall, more commonly known as the day when the Dark Tide defeated the Chiss on Csilla. An Tiarna has not had the fortune of seeing what festivities are held in honor of that battle. Be sure to let him know that I expect him here next year."
After he said this, he looked forward, noting the heavy traffic just outside of the spaceport. Fortunately, as the de facto ruler of the planet, he held a private hangar, which was away from the congestion. The vessel made its way into the embrace of the hangar, where it landed with a soft thud. Nexus turned promptly, making his way to the boarding ramp. As he walked away, he called out to her.
"There will be large crowds and rowdy civilians. Keep your head on a swivel."
With that, the ramp lowered, allowing the light of the hangar bay to enter the ship. He walked down the ramp- his heavy steps reverberated throughout the ship as he made his way off the vessel.
Marching out slowly with a fabricated smile on her face she muttered to Nexus
"I so want to kill that drunk old man."
That said she casually looked to either side, up then down; dropping a bad word about An Tiarna had a way spiralling into something very ugly very fast. Not struck instantaneously dead she shrugged and said
The Dark Lord often guarded his opinions and feelings closely. He chose to ignore the comment by Morrigan, rather than enlighten her upon any opinions that he might have. Better to be a silent fool than a vocal one.
"It seems only appropriate that I make an appearance at the parade, for morale. Once that is wrapped up, we go to my fortress to resupply, and perhaps get a drink somewhere in between."
With those words, a flurry of men and droids rushed to tend the Dark Lord's ship. Nexus gave their foreman a nod, then walked past, making his way outside to the intergalactic market, where those without special visas could congregate without entering the city itself.
The teams were hard at work upon The Raven. Chief of Port, Lt. Ericson, oversaw the maintenance of the Dark Lord's personal vessel himself, as he strove to grant his leader the best in quality and efficiency. He had served under Nexus for a decade now and knew how the Lord of Chaos was actually a very orderly individual when it came to operational executions. That was why when he heard those familiar footsteps several hours prior to his expected timeframe his heart jumped and lodged itself in his throat. Yet he did well not to show his concern.
Turning sharply on his heel, he came to face Nexus standing at attention. The Dark Lord, clad in his fearsome battle regala, looked at him.
"Lieutenant Ericson. There has been a change of plans. Prepare the vessel for immediate departure. And I mean it when I say immediate."
Ericson nodded promptly, saluting Nexus before turning to bark orders to his men. As he turned, he could not help but sense the tension in the air. He knew better than to address this, however, as Darth Nexus was not only his superior, but a sith- they worked under different laws.
"Men! I want the ship to be space worthy in 10. NO. Make that 5. Triple time!"
With that, being one who led by example, he made his way to the hull to do a last minute diagnostic and flight check while Nexus and Morrigan boarded the vessel.
They were cleared for travel in 4 minutes and 23 seconds. Clearing the hangar, the Raven lifted and exited, making its way into orbit.
A group of passionate young medical students exited a ship at Ar'vach'al Space Port. Ready to take on the fight to ensure the health of all with free medicare the group were unwittingly carriers of the dreaded Red Eye as it came to be known an odd disorder that began to express itself by a reddening of the eye and mild cough but transformed into a deadly Bodies rapidly began to pile up and the smell of death filled the air. Subconjunctival hemorrhage was isolated as a telltale symptom. The rapid rate of morbidity was nothing short of astonishing. A Coroner's Inquest was hand delivered as part of standard procedure to the Red Dawn Medical Center. Unfortunately the courier was infected
