"Master!" blaster fire was everywhere, smoke threatened to collapse his throat, "Master! Where are you?!" Bending over to cough Kirwin noticed his lightsaber laying on the ground. He quickly snatched it up and ignited the blade, but the golden glow barely shown through the smoke about him. Kirwin called upon the Force to move the smoke, clearing the immediate area of breath stealing air. "Master!!" Kirwin called out again, the sound of lightsabers clashing against each other drew his attention to his right and he began blindly running that way. Abruptly the smoke cleared and there, at the other side of the massive throne room was his master Sok Fingu defending against two crimson blade wielding figures, "SITH!" Kirwin thought to himself. His master appeared to be holding his own but was slowly giving ground soon to be against the wall, maybe he could help turn the tide with a surprise rear attack.
Kirwin called upon the Force again to propel is body quickly forward in an attempt to strike before the enemy knew what was happening. To Kirwin's dismay a crimson blade met his golden one mere inches from the Sith's neck who proceeded to turn and smile at Kirwin. Kirwin was suddenly thrown backwards, using the Force Kirwin flipped and landed on his feet in Jedi Ready stance, by himself he knew he was no match for a Sith Lord, having only recently obtained the rank of Jedi Knight. The Dathomirian lunged at Kirwin attacking with a series of cuts and slashes, to which Kirwin just managed to block and countered with a slash at the Sith's midsection. The Sith blocked Kirwin's blade yet again and returned with another combo of stabs and slashes a couple of which made contact with his right forearm and left shoulder. Kirwin retreated to outside of his opponent's reach to try to collect himself and look for something to use to his advantage. As he searched he saw his master disarm the Sith he had been fighting, but his foe quickly recovered and retrieved his lightsaber continuing the dual.
A flash of red returned Kirwin to his own dual just in the nick of time to block the Dathomirian blade from disemboweling him. Calling on the Force Kirwin sent the Sith reeling toward the opposite side of the room and quickly ran to aid his master. The Nautolan was a very skilled warrior but Kirwin wanted to try to finish this battle quicker than it's current progression. It was this impatience that usually got him into a lot of trouble at the temple, and this time was no exception. As he approached the Sith from behind his master was cast into the wall dazing him. The Sith turned to Kirwin and snarled, "The Truth will never be revealed!" and attacked, faster than Kirwin could defend, the onslaught did not let up until his lightsaber was ripped from his hand and the red blade was a millimeter from his face. The buzz or the laser being so close unnerved Kirwin mightily, but he did not show his fear for that would be a sign of weakness. "I sense your fear, in fact you reek of it." taunted the Sith, "you can never defeat me. You are too weak."
"I. Am. Not. Weak! I am a Jedi Knight!"
Kirwin's eye snapped open, the violet HUD woke up just as he realized it was just a dream. A dream he had been having all too much now. He never finished it, he couldn't recall what happened after that, all he remembered was coming to in a Kamino infirmary. His master had looked down on him with sadness and guilt, "I cannot train you anymore, I have failed you. The council has deemed you too damaged and dangerous to continue to be part of the Order." Then Sok Fingu, Jedi Master, Mentor, Brother, turned his back on Kirwin and left the infirmary. Sadness from the memory welled up and caused a tear to drop from Kirwin's good eye. He was never angry at his master, he didn't blame him, he just wished he could recall why he was released from the Order. Sitting up Kirwin looked around the white room, in the corner was his DC-17m rifle he had found in a garbage heap after he had been allowed access to an old battle simulator sector that had been abandoned since the Great Clone Wars. He had never been able to change it out of its sniper format unfortunately. But after he had tweaked the rifle some it fired consistently and a little more powerfully than its original use. next to that on his desk was his DL-44 Heavy blaster and lightsaber. He didn't use his lightsaber much anymore, because it was a Jedi's weapon; but he kept it more as a memento to what he once had been.
Standing up Kirwin looked at his door, his heat vision mod revealed that somebody was outside his door. He walked over to it and pressed the 'open' button on the access pad next to it. Outside was Kla Go, a Kaminoan with whom Kirwin had become friends with. "Kirwin, I am pleased you are awake. I had been sent to collect you for your morning exam." Kla slowly greeted Kirwin in the normal Kaminoan tempo which tended to be a slightly slower rate than any other species would speak. "Are you ready?" "Give me a minute to put my boots on and a shirt. Kirwin quickly grabbed a folded shirt and laced his boots. "When will I be allowed to leave here? It has been almost seven years since I was brought here by my old Master." Kirwin probed, knowing all to well what the Kaminoan would say. "Once all the test results say you are stable and your body isn't going to reject your new cybernetic optical receptor you will be free to leave." Kirwin's new eye had been installed three planetary months ago; and his psych tests had never been revealed to him.
After the testing was completed Kirwin went to the dining hall to grab something to eat. Unfortunately it was the same thing he had every day: a type of white paste in a bowl, tasting similar to a thick yogurt-esk substance, a white brick of something that Kirwin had not yet figured out the flavor. All of this was served on white dishes of course, "Because having any other color than white or grey would be a bad thing." thought Kirwin. After finishing his meal Kirwin returned to his room to meditate. Kla Go was again standing outside Kirwin's quarters when he arrived, "May I help you Kla?" "You cannot, but I can help you Kirwin Hass. The medical analysis has come back positive with no reactions or signs of rejection to your cybernetic optical receptor." replied the seven foot tall Kaminoan, "The psych evaluation has shown that you are at full health and we no longer need to keep you here. You may leave the planet as you desire." the Kaminoan turned to leave but Kirwin stopped him, "Thank you Kla." the Kaminoan turned his head to look at Kirwin, nodded, and continued walking.
Kirwin was so excited he almost couldn't focus to meditate. Once he was able to clear his mind and focus images started flashing across his mind's eye: a swamp with rolling mists, a throne room with two motionless bodies and his master looking at him with fear, a desert with two suns, and the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Then voice spoke to him, "The truth will never be revealed." Kirwin's eye flew open, "That voice, I know that voice."
