The duelists find themselves lost in the planet world of Raxus Prime. The arena is a basic junkyard portion of the planet, surrounded by mountains of garbage on all sides. The opponents will fight in a flat bit of ground between numerous surrounding junk mounds, with ample detritus available for use as a makeshift weapon, should the combatants so choose.
Combatants, should you have any questions, your assigned judges are @ron and Alkor Centaris . Good luck, and may the best duelist win!
Jolene stepped in to the clearing that had been made for them to battle in. Piles of garbage surrounded the area, almost like a cage match. It was almost comical to her, what was next, an actual ring where she could jump off the top rope? She had survived her first battle and now on to the next. It was like checking everyone off her list as she went through. Her eyes scanned the place as she waited for her opponent to enter. She reached out letting the force build around her, not wanting to give this guy a chance to catch her off guard. She hoped at least this battle would be more entertaining than the last one. Her saber hung from her hip, her knives placed safely in her boots, and her brass knuckles were firmly placed on her hands.
Crossing her arms, she took in what was around her. Everything looked like garbage, but it could also be a weapon against her. A sly smile came across her face as ideas started popping inside her head of what she could do with it. The force continued to build around her as she placed herself from the farthest part away from the entrance and started to climb up on top of one of the piles of trash. A few loose items slid down as she made her way to the top. Talk about getting the high ground she thought to herself, and knelt down, waiting.
Kirwin found himself in a scrap yard and had finally made his way to the co-ordinance he had been given for his target, “So this is where my next bounty is?” he thought to himself. “Not a bad place to hide out in.” he made his way to the edge of the ‘area’ and scanned his surroundings as he drew upon the Force. He was unsure of if his new target had arrived yet or not, but either way he was ready for, “A miss Jolene Carter” Kirwin said out loud as the holo display showed a human female, who looked to be mid-twenties, in the palm of his hand. Looking back up he continued scanning the arena, using the heat signature capability of his cybernetic eye enhancement. That was when some sounds caught his attention from the opposite side of the circle. About twenty meters away and up a trash mound was his target. She was too far away from his holstered DL-44 heavy blaster, his lightsaber was definitely out of the question and stayed stowed in the small of his back. He could hit her with his DC-17m sniper rifle, which was currently aimed at the ground across his beskar covered chest, but that wouldn’t be very sportsman-like of him.
Kirwin hadn’t tried sensing her through the Force as he was storing up as much energy for later if he really needed it. Could never be too careful with other Force users these days, as they will talk nice one minute and try to stab you in the back the next. He called out to her, “Hey there little birdie, I see you perched up there on your roost. How about you come down here and surrender. Make it easy for the both of us. Wouldn’t want to damage that pretty face of yours, would we?” He kept mind open to his surroundings and his rifle at a ready low stance should she refuse, and he fully expected her to. He was simply trying to rile her up and get her to make a move and give him a reason to bring her back dead versus alive, he liked these kinds of bounties, where he got to choose. And this one had put him in a not-so-friendly mood because of the stinking planet he had been forced to travel to.
Jolene eyed up her opponent as he entered. She noticed he carried a bunch of weapons and smirks. She had her own weapons, hidden of course. Didn’t want to show too much too soon. He spoke her name out loud and her smirk grins further, until he noticed her. Oh he wanted her to come down? Hmm. Seemed like a good idea, but not yet. she thought to herself ”I’m sorry, I can't quite hear you, what did you say?” she asked, leaning forward, but lowering herself down, protecting her chest with her knees. Her hands were placed on the pile of trash below her as she glared down at him. If she could get him to move to the right position, she would be able to attack the way she wanted.
The force continued to build and swirl around her, as she let it flow into her, ready to be used. Her eyes stayed on him and his gun. She had no clue what this guy could do, but it was exciting in a way. Always expect the unexpected. Who knew, maybe he would just throw his weapons down and surrender, wouldn’t that be a surprise. She mentally chuckled and she began to run through different moves that she could do from up here, but she knew that eventually she would have to get down and face him face to face, but first, she had a plan. One that she wanted to desperately see through, one that could go very smooth, or horribly wrong. Only one way to tell.
Kirwin watched her move from her crouched position to all fours like she was ready to pounce down toward him. “It’s simple girl, get down and surrender. Children shouldn’t be playing where they can get hurt.” He said, slightly raising his voice to make sure she heard him. He knew she had heard him since he had heard her reply, but he figured he would humor her for a minute. He had the time to use, as his bounty wasn’t time compliant.
He continued to drink from the pool of the Force around him and prepared for any type of trickery Jolene might have for him. He knew that a cornered animal would resort to anything to try to break free from their captor, and Kirwin had been through many traps that had been set for him, some more dangerous than others. He didn’t know Jolene, or what she was capable of, but he did know that if he were in her stead, he would be planning some type of trap, even in the wide-open area they were in. He moved his right foot forward, keeping his feet shoulder width apart, and prepared for anything. Rifle poised to snap up from its ready-front position and fire at the slightest movement of hostility, even if she was a short distance away and up.
Children Jolene’s jaw clenched together as she glared down at him. He shifted, moving his right foot forward and her fingers wrapped around, what looked like an old metal trash can lid, that was laying under her hand. Her other hand came up, resting on the top of her boot. He was trying to coax her out, but what he didn’t know, was that she was already planning on making her move. ”You want me to come down? You got it” she said with a smirk, her hand tightening on the metal handle of the trash can lid, her other grabbing one of her knives from her boot. Jolene leapt towards him, snapping her arm in front of her. She used the metal lid as a shield, as she tried to clear the distance.
Her intention was to toss away the lid, and superman punching him as soon as she was in striking distance, but as she flew through the air, another plan formed in her mind. She covered the distance, trying using the trash can lid, swinging towards his face. Her hopes were to connect. If it did, she would then attempt to push him backwards into a pile of trash, to pin him there. Jolene then proceeded to attempt to stab his right thigh with the knife, hoping it would be something she could do to slow him down a bit. Life is a bitch, and then you die she thought to herself, that was, unless you were a survivor like her.
He saw the fire light in her eyes, even from this distance. Something had struck a nerve in the woman, and Kirwin was ready for whatever her next move might be. He then listened to her response and watched as she lept into the air, not the first thing he expected from her, but one of the few predictions he had made in preparation. He calculated that the only way she could travers the distance to reach him she would have to aid her leap with the Force, but he hadn't noticed any flash of it, no matter how small.
The second her feet left the mound of trash she had been crouching on he snapped his rifle in-line and fired a round at the makeshift shield. Kirwin expected one of two results: either it would hit and nothing would happen, or it would bore through and strike whatever part of his target hid behind it. He wasn't done however, if he hit or not he didn't care, Kirwin then reached out with the Force and attempted to grab her entire being and slam her straight down into the pile of trash she was flying above.
He figured if he was successful in his attack there must be something in that mound for her to impale herself on, if not she would definitely be easier to capture and bring back to his client. "All too easy." He said under his breath as he stayed prepared for Jolene's next move by keeping his rifle leveled at her location.
